Anti-Missionary Activity

HaMevasser, September 29, 2019

This article reported that a rabbinical blessing was bestowed upon the Or L’Achim organization, which “protects the Almighty’s children from falling into the poisonous octopus’ arms of the missionaries”. The article said that Or L’Achim has been instrumental in revealing the dangerous and sophisticated ways in which missionaries try to convert Jews – men and women, young and old, children and teens. It was further reported that Or L’Achim activists go out every night to central areas around the country to counter missionary activities.

Political Issues

The Jerusalem Post, October 3, 2019

The Anglican Church of South Africa passed a resolution in its Synod to support the BDS movement. The resolution is entitled “Time to Act: Solidarity with Palestine”, and was proposed by Bishop Luke Pato of Namibia. During the proceedings, Pato said: “The situation in the Holy Land demands the attention of the Christian church precisely because that is the place where Jesus the Christ was born, nurtured, crucified and raised.” The resolution further stated: “The current political nation-state of Israel and Israel in the Bible should not be confused with each other… many Christian pilgrimages to the current State of Israel often ignore the Christians living in Palestine.” The resolution also condemned anti-Semitism and Islamophobia in all forms.

Christians and the Holocaust

A group of Korean Christians gathered at a shopping center in the Carmel Center neighborhood of Haifa to apologize for what has been done to Jews by Christians in the name of Christianity since the fourth century. The group brought Israeli and Korean flags, signs with “We apologize.” printed in Hebrew and English, and passed out fliers. They said they believe Jesus wanted them to apologize. The group also blew a shofar as a sign of repentance, and sang songs.
