Three articles reported that the name “Jerubaal” was found inscribed in a rare form of ancient Canaanite on a piece of pottery. Jerubaal is the name that was given to Gideon in the book of Judges after he destroyed the altar to the god Baal in order to save Israel from the Midianites.

Christian Zionism / Christian Organizations

Kedumeida, July 9, 2021

The Christian Friends of Israeli Communities, who support Jewish settlements in the West Bank, organized a gathering of Jewish leaders from across different settlements in Judea and Samaria. During the meeting, 3.5 million shekels were distributed amongst councils, mostly for security purposes. The organization raises funds and support from Israel-loving Christians, and they focus on supporting Jewish settlements.

History / Jerusalem

HaDerech, July 15, 2021

This was a piece about the history of Jerusalem’s occupiers. After Jewish control of Jerusalem gave way to the Romans, and after the Great Revolt, Jerusalem started to fill up with Christians, who built famous Christian structures that can be found in Jerusalem to this day. During that time, Jerusalem became central to Christian pilgrims. The article goes on to provide details about the religious wars between Christians and Muslims, and the various Christian Crusades, during which time many Jews were killed. The city went from having only a small presence of Jews historically, to now being a Jewish center.
